Murrell L. Turner, 79, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born March 25, 1932 in McRae, Georgia he was the son of a sharecropper living on various farms all over Georgia. With pride and honor, Murrell served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1955. Subsequent to his military enlistment, he worked as a civil servant at Robins Air Force Base for a short period of time. He retired from Sears after twenty five years of service where he was employed as a Delivery Driver. He was of the Baptist faith. Murrell adored his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening. His parents, brothers; Massey, Aubrey and Henry, all preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of thirty four years, Ann Turner, Byron; children, Randy Turner, Jefferson; Debra Begley (Tim), Kathleen; and Cathy Hartman (Terry), Warner Robins; grandchildren, Samantha and Sabrina Hartman and Kristen and T. J. Begley.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 7, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2011 in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
