Myrtice Gray, 97, formerly of Quincy, Florida and wife of the late Floyd Gray, died Friday, September 26, 2003 at the Summerhill Nursing Home in Perry after a long illness. Memorial services will be held at the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins at 3:30 pm, Sunday, September 28 with Steve Morgan, Jr., officiating. Family visitation will follow the service. Graveside services will be at Hill Crest Cemetery, Quincy, Florida on Monday, September 29 at 2:00 pm.
Mrs. Gray, a native of Greensboro, Florida, moved to Warner Robins, GA in 1986 where she lived until she was admitted to Summerhill in 2003. She was a homemaker and grocery store owner/operator; and worked in retail for several years before retiring from IGA, Inc. in 1968. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Centerville, GA.
Mrs. Gray was the widow of the late Floyd M. Gray and the daughter of the late Henry Wells and the late Chaffa Green Wells. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Lee Gray, of Bridgeport, WV; two sisters, Sarah Wells of Providence, FL and Edra L. Edwards of Crawfordville, FL; two brothers, Marion H. Wells, Ft. Lauderdale, FL and James H. Wells, Jr. of Quincy, FL and their respective spouses.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Doris) Gray of Warner Robins, and daughter, Norma G. (Fred) Wiggins of Slidell, LA. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Pamela (Steve) Morgan of Warner Robins, John (Susie) Gray of Centerville, Karen Gray of Macon, Connie (Jim) Mosley of Warner Robins, Sylvia (Harley) Nethken of Slidell, LA, Bobby Edwards of Asheville, NC and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Henderson Baptist Church, Elko, GA or to the disaster relief fund of the American Red Cross, 346 Corder Road, Warner Robins, GA.
