Myrtle Ann Elston

September 14, 1939 — January 31, 2021

During the late afternoon of Sunday, January 31, 2021, Myrtle Ann Elston left us to be with her Lord and Savior in Heaven. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 14, 1939 in Macon, Georgia, Ann was the daughter of the late Otis M. and Annie Mae Maddox Bailey. She was a well-loved dog groomer in the area for 40 years and also enjoyed serving as a crossing guard for Warner Robins Police Department at Parkwood Elementary and Tabor Middle Schools for 20 years. Ann was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, Warner Robins Coral Society, and a few bowling leagues over the years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Terrence Elston.

Those left to cherish Ann’s memory are her loving daughters, BeAnn Cooley of Warner Robins, Vivian Castillo (Phillip) of Burnet, Texas and Christina Thomas (Fred) of Byron; grandchildren, Kristin Hayes (Matt), Jennifer Stripling (Dalton), Tiffany Lindsey (Jim), Diana Castillo, Matthew Sapp (Lauren) and Sarah Sapp; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Ann’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Ann will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery on Friday, February 5, 2021, at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Ann to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St., Ste. A., Macon, GA 31201 or to Encompass Hospice, 1760 Bass Rd., Ste. 202, Macon, GA 31210.
