Late on the evening of Tuesday, March 26, 2019, Nancy Marie York, 76, joined her Lord and Savior in heaven.
Born on October 5, 1942 in Macon, Georgia, Nancy was the daughter of the late Earl Howard Dendle and Ramona McCullough Dendle. She worked as a Paraprofessional for the Houston County Board of Education, mostly at C.B. Watson Elementary School. She also cashiered in a number of retail outlets around Middle Georgia. Although she loved all of her jobs, her favorite was being a mother and she did it well as a single parent for the majority of her children’s lives. Nancy was extremely gifted in crocheting, cake decorating, and catering. She was well known for her charismatic charm and hard work ethic. She will always be remembered as a devoted mother, loyal friend, and a talented well-rounded woman who was mature in her Christian faith. Warner Robins church of Christ was her church home. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 22 years, Charles Lindburgh York and her granddaughter, Jeani Anderson-Bentham.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Alana Roberts (Russell) of Mexico Beach, Florida, Ronald Bell (Tammy) of Butlerville, Indiana, and Catherine Yeomans of Byron, Georgia; grandchildren, Abigail Brown, Crystal Bell, Samantha Collins (Jesse), Shelby Whitehead (Skylar), Scott Bailey (Holly), Kayla Mitchell (Doug), and Allen Williams; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Bonny Riner (Thomas), Sandy Menmuir (Ted), and Earl Dendle, Jr. (Martha); and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Mrs. York will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Warner Robins church of Christ with Minister Tim Childs officiating. Interment will be private.
