Nathan Driver, 61, entered into rest on Friday, November 4, 2016.
Born in Macon, Georgia on November 24, 1954, Nathan was a longtime resident of Fort Valley where he retired from Blue Bird Body Company after 26 years. He was also a devoted member of the Apostolic Church of Warner Robins.
On May 14, 1976, Nathan married his one true love, Linda Marie Gassett and together they raised six wonderful children to know and love God. He was a wonderful family man whose joy came from time with his family and making sure that they were always happy and well provided for. To him, this was his happiness.
Nathan was a man of many interests and talents. He was often called "master carpenter," "Jack of all trades," or "Mr. Fix-it," for he could build or fix anything. Family and friends were always calling him for advice on any subject of expertise. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Jonathan on the land where he grew up as a boy that now they both called home. His garden flourished under his hard-working hand that never seemed to grow weary. He loved cooking with and for his family, especially around the holidays. Nathan enjoyed living life to the fullest, a beautiful man of incredible inner strength who loved God and life itself. He will be truly missed by those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Nathan was preceded in death by his father, Walter Erwin Driver; and brother, Simon Driver.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 40 years, Linda Marie Driver; children, Nicole Wittenberg (James), Valerie Driver Bridges (Roger), Natalie Sharpless (Kyle), Diana Fontenot (Chris), Jessica Driver (Dale) and Jonathan Driver; grandchildren, Evan Wittenberg, Joseph, Cody, and Anna Bridges, Ethan Sharpless, and Aiden Fontenot; mother, Annie Ruth Driver; siblings, Daniel "Danny" Driver, Joel Driver, Janice Brock, and Barbara Pike; and a number of loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 8th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9th at the Apostolic Church of Warner Robins with Pastor Mark Fogarty officiating. Following the service, Nathan will be laid to rest in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fort Valley.
