Nathaniel Henry "Hank" Saunders, Jr., 79, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Brentwood Health Center in Lecanto, Florida. He moved from Warner Robins to Citrus County, Florida, nine months ago.
Mr. Saunders was born on June 8, 1931 in Warren, Arkansas. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty-eight years, participated in the Vietnam War, and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. He later worked in civil service before retiring again. Assembly of God Church in Dunnellon, Florida, was his church home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; wife, Oralia; daughter, Sonja; brother, Marvin; and parents, Nathaniel H., Sr. and Doris Hightower Saunders.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Anne Saunders, Citrus Springs, Florida; son, Nathanial H. "Sonny" Saunders, III, Warner Robins; daughter, Terry Wilson (Jeff), Bonaire; sisters, Judy Lancaster, Garland, Texas, Nancy Black, Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Betty Ross, Apple Valley, California; brothers, Robert Saunders, Bonanza, Arkansas, and John Saunders, Africa; and grandchildren, Joey Wilson and Kelly Wilson.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, and Friday, December 10, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2010 in the Chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crittendon Memorial Park, Marion, Arkansas, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Disabled American Veterans, P. O. Box 14301, Cincinnati Ohio 45250-030.
