Neal Leonard Morris, Jr.

Neal Leonard Morris, Jr., 88, entered into rest on Sunday, August 14, 2011.

Mr. Morris was born on October 22, 1922 in Tombs County, Georgia. Neal graduated from Metter High School in Georgia, May 1941 as the third honor graduate of his class, and was a member of the Debate Team. He worked with the Georgia Department of Labor in Atlanta and Southeastern Ship Building Corp in Savannah. He attended Armstrong Junior College, Emory University and graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in Political Science and a minor in History. He began work in 1954 at Robins Air Force Base in Material Management and the Procurement Directorate, and retired in 1988. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Warner Robins. His parents, Neal Leonard Morris, Sr., and Eula Branch Morris; and brother, Arthur Morris, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved and devoted wife of fifty-three years, Shirley Yates Morris; sister-in-law, Jewel Morris, Cobbtown; nieces and nephews, Connie Sisson and Lila Williams, Metter, N.L. and Gail Yates, Allison Clark, Mandy Smith, Todd Yates, all of Dublin; and Dr. Lee Yates, Savannah.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Warner Robins, Reverend Max Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to First Baptist Church of Warner Robins, 1135 Watson Blvd, Warner Robins GA 31088.
