Nellie Mae Colquitt

February 25, 1930 — June 23, 2023

Nellie Mae Colquitt, 93, arrived in paradise on Friday, June 23, 2023, greeted by family members and precious friends who arrived before her. Nellie was born on February 25, 1930, in the small cotton mill town of Monroe, Georgia to Ernest and Ruby Reynolds. She was a devoted wife, sister, grandmother, and friend who made every holiday and birthday extra special with her made-from-scratch cakes and goodies. Nellie enjoyed her position as admissions clerk at Middle Georgia Hospital for 19 years. She was a long-time member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia. Her final few years were spent at Phoenix Senior Living in Warner Robins, Georgia, where she regretted having to be cared for instead of taking care of others.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Steve Colquitt of Hillsboro, Georgia; daughter, Donna Seligson (Robert) of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughter, Joy Bryant (Buddy) of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandchildren, Corey Colquitt, Sarah Seligson, Joshua Seligson, Danielle Bryant, and Shane Bryant; as well as great-granddaughter, Scarlett Bryant.

The family embracing Nellie in Heaven upon her arrival, besides her parents, are her husband of 56 years, Donald Colquitt; sister, Betty Dotson; son, Rick Colquitt; and best friends, Mary Hamm, Mary Beth Butts, and Bernice Snow.

“A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.” Proverbs 31:10
