Nelson "Sonny" Fowler

On the morning of Friday, April 20, 2018, Sonny Fowler, 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior.

Sonny was born on August 7, 1940 in McRae, Georgia to the late Harvey and Ruth Rogers Fowler. A proud veteran, he served his country in the United States Army. Later, Sonny worked as a carrier for the United States Post Office until his retirement. He loved the Lord and faithfully served him at Grace Baptist Church. Sonny was a devoted family man who adored spending time with his beloved grandchildren. His greatest passion was all things Georgia Bulldogs, especially football season. His sister, Patricia Fowler, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 54 years, Brenda Fowler; children, Joy Malone (Kenny) and their children, Chess and Katelyn Malone; Lori Buffington and her children, Cody Sumner, Jonathan Sumner, Mick Sumner, and Justin Buffington; Amy Moore (Bert) and their daughter Kayla Moore, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, April 23, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will be immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McCullough. After the service, Sonny will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
