Nita L. Baughan

Nita LeFlore Baughan, 86, passed away peacefully at her son’s home on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Born on March 26, 1934 to the late Harris and Dessie Bowen LeFlore, Nita was of the Lutheran faith. She was extremely proud of her education, having earned an Associate’s degree from an International School in Switzerland. A caregiver by nature, Nita found fulfillment in helping others. Bingo was her game of choice, and she played at every opportunity. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Horace L. Baughan.

Those left to cherish Nita’s memory are her loving children, Steven L. Baughan of Fort Valley, Betty Wagner (David) of Perry, and Sally Richardson (Archie) of Prattville, Alabama; her grandchildren, LeKeyshia Marie Popwell (George) and Brandon Richardson (Shea); five great-grandchildren; her siblings, Virginia Armstrong of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Charlie Spencer of Medford, Oregon; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

The graveside funeral service celebrating Nita’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Magnolia Park Mausoleum where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
