Nora Thomas, 85, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018.
Mrs. Thomas was born on June 24, 1932 in Alapaha, Georgia to the late Howard and Dela Raffield Horton. In 1962, she married the love of her life, the late, Raford C. Thomas and traveled with him during his military career. Nora was a devoted mother and worked as a cashier at the Base Exchange and Food Lion for many years. She loved working, meeting new people, and talking to everyone; she never met a stranger. In her spare time, Nora enjoyed shopping and visiting friends. However, her greatest joy came from time spent with her beloved family. Nora was also preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughters, Nora Frank and Betty Adams of Centerville; son, James Lynch of Lake Sinclair; grandchildren, Douglas Frank (Stephanie) of Macon, Melanie Carroll (John) of Ft. Riley, Kansas, Crystal Flynn (Jason) of Centerville; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Lillie Rousey of Tifton, as well as several other brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 in the Chapel of McCullough. Following the service, Nora will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
