Norma Lynette Kirby

October 12, 1941 — March 8, 2022

Norma Lynette Kirby, 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Houston Medical Center.

Born on October 12/13, 1941, in Haddock, Georgia, Norma was the daughter of the late James Cobb and Louise Miller Ricks. In life, Norma dedicated her life and career to helping and caring for others. She was the epitome of selflessness. Norma retired after serving over 30 years for the Georgia Department of Human Services, where she counseled those who lost their way, those that have lost their hope, and sometimes those who have lost their will to live. And she brought them to the other side. She was happiest when serving and helping others. Norma loved her family unconditionally and enjoyed watching her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During her free time, she enjoyed ‘girl time’ making ceramics, playing BINGO, solving Sudoku puzzles, and watching classic movies. Norma loved her home teams and was an avid fan of both the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves.

In addition to Norma’s parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy S. Kirby, PhD; Fiancé, Bill Dupper; stepfather, LC Ricks; brother, JC (Jim) Cobb; and grandson-in-law, Steven Pierson.

She is survived by her children, Renee Chambers (Jerry) of Warner Robins; Robin Harper (Jody) of Milledgeville; and Billy Dupper of Atlanta; grandchildren, Tommy Feest of Warner Robins; Kandis Craddock (Jason) of Byron; Nikki Arden (Morgan) of Perry; Tiffany Pierson (EJ) of Warner Robins; Andrea Luke (Richie) of Warner Robins; Jeremy Harper (Stacey) of Milledgeville; Jenny Chapman (Eric) of Gray; Josey Jones (Thomas) of Milledgeville; and Karen Swink of Warner Robins; great-grandchildren, Timmy Hollister, Devin Feest, Madison Whaley, Makinley Craddock, Landon Craddock, Marissa Craddock, Morgan Arden V, Nolan Arden, Mila Pierson, Bella Lopez, Alijah Lopez, River Luke, Aidan Chapman, Emily Chapman, Adriana Harper, Charlie Jones, and Christian Jones; siblings, Kenneth Cobb (Vicki) of Gray; Olin Cobb of Macon; Ovid Cobb of Las Vegas; and Sally Wentland (Gerri) of Macon.
