Onza A Wilson, of Macon, Georgia, (formerly of Russell Springs and Louisville, Kentucky) passed from this life Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Brightmoor Hospice Inpatient Care, in Macon, Georgia.

Onza was born in Russell Springs, KY, on June 12, 1939. He was the son of the late Arnold and Levona Tucker Wilson. Onza graduated from Russell County High School in 1957. After high school, he moved to Louisville, Kentucky, and began working at Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corporation. During his time with them, Onza worked in two of their locations: Louisville, KY, and Macon, GA, where he and his family relocated in 1980. After 37 years of work, Onza retired. He was a Master Mason at Fairdale Lodge, in Louisville, KY, and a 32nd degree Mason in Macon, GA. Onza enjoyed singing karaoke with his friends, fishing, motor home traveling with family, flea market shopping for treasures, and being a "Pap-Pa" to his grandchildren. He was generous to a fault and a great provider with an incredible work ethic.

Along with his parents, Onza was preceded in death by his brother, Hearl Wilson of Brooks, KY; infant sister, Vel Jean Wilson; and brothers-in-law, Obren Roy and Eugene Stonecypher, both of Russell Springs, KY.

Onza is survived by his daughters, Johnna Sue Spires (Tony) of Byron, GA, and Jill Renae Brown (Chris) of Forsyth, GA; and their mother, Carol Sue Wilson of Macon, GA. His grands include Brandon Corbett Spires (Kristin) of Athens, GA, Jenna Elizabeth Marzoll (Kendell) of Warner Robins, GA, Jordan Forrester Mills of Nashville, TN, and Miranda Brown Burke (Andrew) of Grand Forks, ND. His great grands are Shelby Weaber Spires, Ellie Layne Marzoll, and Corbett Lee Marzoll. He is also survived by his sisters, Deva Roy Stonecypher, and Reva Roy (Larry) Russell, all of Russell Springs, KY; a brother, Edsol Wilson of Indianapolis, IN; sister-in-law, Janice Carol Wilson of Brooks, KY; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside funeral service and interment took place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Tucker Cemetery in Russell Springs, KY. Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. McCullough Funeral Home provided transport to Kentucky.
