Onzelo Harris Hayslip

Onzelo Harris Hayslip, 77, entered into rest on Friday, April 20, 2012.

Mr. Hayslip was born on September 30, 1934 in Crisp County, Georgia. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as an Electronic Specialist. Mr. Hayslip attended Friendship Baptist at Lake Sinclair and was a long-time member of the Moose Lodge. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His parents, Otis Hayslip and John Lee Smith Hayslip, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Violet Lynell Hayslip, Centerville; sons, Anthony Harris Hayslip (Rita), King, North Carolina and Dr. Curtis Onzelo Hayslip (Jennifer), Macon; grandchildren, Jordan, Grant, and Vivian Hayslip; step-grandchildren, Ryan Ethridge and Tremaine, Gene, and Janette Nukie; brother, Loran Lee Hayslip (Janice); and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at McCullough Funeral Home with visitation following until 9:00 p.m. Reverend Mobley Cross will officiate. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to Southern Care Hospice, 5233 Riverside Drive, Suite 8, Macon, GA 31210.
