Opal “Ruth” Harlowe, 86, entered into rest on Saturday, July 22, 2023.
Ruth was born on March 23, 1937, in Virginia to the late Dewey and Lavady Stanford. She loved the water and enjoyed going to both the beach and the lake, where she also enjoyed fishing. She found joy in doing yard work, particularly in her garden. Ruth dearly loved her family and always looked forward to their time together. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Harlowe, grandchildren, Ronnie Harlowe, Jr. and Ashleigh Harlowe, and daughter-in-law, Gail Harlowe.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her sons, Ricky Harlowe and Ronnie Harlowe and sisters, Sue McBurnett and Almay Edwards; her special friend, Johnny Braun, and his children, John Braun, David Braun, Terry Owens, and Laurie Easom; along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Ruth will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
