Orville “Lefty” Newlin, Jr., 71, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2006. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2006 in Andersonville National Cemetery. Donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201, or to Hospice Care Options, 151 College Street, Macon, GA 31201.
Mr. Newlin was born on June 6, 1935 in Kaukauna, WI. He retired from the U. S. Air Force as a Tech Sergeant. He served our country in the Korean War and Vietnam War. Mr. Newlin was also a retired Supervisor of Vehicle Maintenance for the City of Warner Robins. He was a Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the American Legion 40-8. Mr. Newlin received The Honor Degree of the VFW MOC. Mr. Newlin was past commander of both the American Legion and the VFW. His parents, Orville Sr. and Freida Newlin preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Doreen Newlin, Warner Robins; three children, Karen Adamar of Camak, GA; Shannon Roberts of Perry; Orville Newlin, III, of Danville; two sisters, Carole Kwilinski (John), of FL; Mary Lou Sandlin (Robert), of FL; two brothers, Ralph Newlin (Sandy), of FL; Tommy Newlin, of WI; and three granddaughters, Krista Renee Davis, Amber Nicole Davis, and Haley Dawn Adamar, all of Warner Robins.
