Oscar “Ray” Tilghman, 70, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 20 at 3:00 p.m. with full military honors at Magnolia Park Mausoleum. The Reverend Herschel Sizemore will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
Born in New Bern, NC, Mr. Tilghman was retired from service in the United States Air Force, where he worked as an in-flight refueling technician. He was a former member of the Al Sihah Temple, the Moose Lodge, and the VFW. He was of the Baptist faith. His mother, Swannie Tilghman, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Nelle Tilghman, Warner Robins; stepsons, Ricky Williams (Kathy), Macon; Jeff Williams, Warner Robins; and David Williams (Carol Ann), Dublin; nine grandchildren, Wendy Williams, Warner Robins; Tiffany Williams Plunkett (Brian), Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Tori Williams Gomn (Grant), San Antonio, TX; Ryan Williams, Brittany Williams, and Gregory Williams, all of Macon; and Amber Williams, Ashley Williams, and Austin Williams, all of Dublin; and great granddaughter, Amelia Gomn, San Antonio, TX.
McCullough Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
