Oudia Jo Lewis

Oudia Jo Lewis, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 28, 2014.

Born on November 7, 1921 in Justiceberg, Texas, Oudia graduated from Sudan High School in Sudan, Texas. A devoted military wife to the beloved late Eldon Ray Lewis, she dedicated her life to the making of a home and family. Married for 52 years, she was a career wife and mother whose children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. She was a much-loved member of Centerville United Methodist Church, the Sisters Sunday School Class, and the United Methodist Women. The legacy of Oudia's kind spirit, her generosity to others, and her passion for sports will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

In addition to her husband, Oudia was preceded in death by a son, Terry Ray Lewis; her parents, Joe Anderson and Audie Samples Reed; and a brother, Denver Anderson.

Oudia's memory will forever be treasured by her loving daughter, Sherrill Lewis Pinckney of Warner Robins; son, Dr. Jeff Lewis (Karen) of Rosharon, Texas; sister, June Reed Harwell of Alamogordo, New Mexico; grandchildren, Martin Pinckney (Kimberly), Elissa Ellison (Johnny), and Robert and Grant Lewis; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of adoring nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held on Sunday, November 30 with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. until service time at McCullough Funeral Home with the funeral following at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at McCullough. Further funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in the Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home in Houston, Texas, with interment to follow in Houston National Cemetery.
