Ovie Junior "OJ" Cooper, 84, entered into rest on Monday, November 17, 2008.
Mr. Cooper was born on October 30, 1924, in Worthington, Kentucky. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Navy and participated in World War II. Living in Warner Robins for forty-five years, he later retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base. He was a very active member of First Church of the Nazarene, serving in many capacities. His daughter, Gloria Sizemore, sister, Evelyn Calihan, and parents, Simuel and Gracie Cooper, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Ellora "Judy" Cooper; daughter Linda Combs (Roy), Dayton, Ohio; son, Ken Cooper (Sandy), Franklin, Tennessee; brothers, Ernest, Dayton, Ohio, Jimmy, Prescott, Arizona, Lloyd, Raceland, Kentucky, and Kenneth "Geno", Brunswick; grandchildren, Kristalyn, Jake, Tim and Jesse Cooper, Gabe and Cameron Sizemore; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 20, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2008, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Reverend David Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 300 Lois Drive, Warner Robins GA 31093.
