Owen Oliver "OO" Watson, 81, entered into rest on Monday, August 22, 2011.
"OO" was born on December 16, 1929 in Selma, North Carolina. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Air Force through the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts, and was awarded the Purple Heart. After twenty years of service, he retired from active duty as a Technical Sergeant. He continued to serve as a civil servant at Robins Air Force Base as an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor before retirement. His parents, John M. Watson and Malissa Jane Oliver Watson, two sisters and two brothers, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of thirty-nine years, Virginia V. Cox Watson; children Janet Maynard, Byron, and David Watson, Cocoa Beach; and grandchildren, Scott Maynard and Malissa Maynard.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Avondale Baptist Church in Macon, Reverend Marty Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Avondale Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted.
