Paul G. Stripling, Jr., 77, was summoned by God to His heavenly home on Monday, June 18, 2018.
Paul was born in Cordele, Georgia on December 15, 1940, the son of the late Wilmet Stripling Collins and Paul Gladden Stripling, Sr. A lifelong resident of Georgia, he retired from the United States Postal Service with many years as a mail carrier and also managed Houston Lanes Bowling. Paul loved music and listening to Willie Nelson, fishing, guns, working on automobiles, and riding his Harley Davidson, as well. Centerville Baptist was his church home. Paul will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who deeply loved his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Stripling; his sister, Brenda Stripling; and his stepfather, W.D. Collins.
Paul’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 58 years, Kathryn Bray Stripling; children, A. Stripling and Pamela Stripling-Barber (Paul); grandchildren, Ashli Axtell, Michael Douglas Byrd, Jr., Rustin Stripling Williams, and Keatin Paul Williams; great-grandchildren, Ashtin Edward Williams and Braedin Mason Williams; siblings, David Stripling and Linda Jeffries (Charles); beloved pet, “AnnieBelle;” and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, June 22, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel with Reverend Jerry Axtell officiating.
McCullough Funeral Home has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. Stripling’s arrangements.
