Paul J. Fike, 90, entered into rest on Sunday, May 10, 2009.
Mr. Fike was born on March 6, 1919 in New Washington, Ohio. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where his commitment was reflected in his many years of ushering and maintaining the grounds as a volunteer. He was a dedicated civil servant of Robins Air Force Base from where he retired. Mr. Fike was a Mason and a longtime member of the Lion's Club in New Washington, Ohio. He was an avid gardener and took great pride in his extensive rose garden. His parents, Harvey David Fike and Katherine Barnhart Fike, and brothers Maurice Fike, Warren Fike and Irwin Fike preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of seventy one years, Virginia E. Fike, Warner Robins, daughter; Diane Karen Metezger, Massillon, Ohio; sons, Paul J. Fike II (Terry) Columbus and Dennis Vern Fike (Millie); Perry, Florida. He was blessed with grandchildren; Val Evans, Paul J. Fike III, Eric Milton Fike, Todd Metzger, Dennis Vern Fike II and Angela April Thompson, Sandra Jones and Stephen Currie. Great-grandchildren, Caitin A. Jones, Rachel Marie Fike, Abigail Elizabeth Fike, Caroline Hannah Fike, Zacherty Dennis Fike, Abbygail Ashton Fike, Ryan Michael Thompson and Matthew Blake Thompson; sisters Mildred Fleming (Charles), Birmingham, AL, Betty Beal, California.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 14, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2009, Pastor Bill Bagwell officiating. Interment will follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens
Memorial donations may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church.
