It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Vartenisian, who departed this life on October 10, 2024, at the age of 93. Born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Paul was the beloved son of the late Alexander and Violet Vartenisian.
Paul honorably served his country in the Air Force as a Tech Sergeant, including deployment in Vietnam, showcasing his commitment to duty and service. After his military career, he devoted more than 20 years to the United States Postal Service, where he made lasting connections within his community.
A devoted member of the First Christian Church of Perry, Paul was actively involved in church activities and cherished the fellowship he found there. He took great pride in his Armenian heritage, embracing his roots and sharing his culture with those around him.
Paul was a proud member of the 1943 Little League team in Williamsport, leading them to victory in the National Championship. His love for baseball continued throughout his life, with a special devotion to the Atlanta Braves. He was also a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed playing golf.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Heidi Vartenisian, and his two brothers.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Michael Vartenisian (Debbie) of Perry, Heidi Johnson (Ken) of Warner Robins, Susanne Bertram (the late Kenny) of Warner Robins, Tim Vartenisian (Linda) of Montgomery, Alabama, Ken Vartenisian (Tammy) of Smith’s Grove, Kentucky, and Vicky Rich (William) of Warner Robins; thirteen grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Family will greet friends during a memorial gathering on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at First Christian Church of Perry. A memorial service will be held immediately following. Paul will be laid to rest at a later date at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
