Pearl Lawrence Rennels, 84 died Monday, August 23, 2004 in Spanish Oaks Retreat in Savannah, Georgia. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 26, 2004 in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with internment following in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Macon, GA. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at McCullough Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association - Georgia Chapter, 1841 Clifton Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30329-4049 or the charity of choice.
She was born in Soperton and lived more than 50 years in Warner Robins before moving to Savannah in January 2004. She worked for 18 years with the Houston County Public Schools and was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church since 1956. She was an avid gardener, fisherwomen, quilter and enjoyed cooking. Her husband, Edward W. “Buck” Rennels and brother, John Horace Lawrence, Jr., preceded her in death.
She is survived by daughters, Patricia Pickett and her husband, Dan, of Dothan, AL and Suzanne Clary Bryan and her husband, Jim, of Savannah, sons, Donald Edward Reynolds and his wife, Jean, of Waynesboro, VA; Dr. Freddie Reynolds and his wife, Deborah and Audie Ray Reynolds and his wife, Joy, all of Columbia, SC, sisters, Iris Martin, of Jacksonville, FL; Gladys Ogburn, of Macon and Ruby Beasley, of Eatonton; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
