On December 11, 2023, Peggy Ann Peterman, 13th child of Newton and Jeffie G. Peterman of Butler, GA, left this early world after celebrating 92 years of life. Her life began September 6, 1931, at the family residence in Taylor County, not far from Midway Cemetery where her parents and grandparents are buried. After attending Taylor County High School, Peggy moved to Bonaire, GA to begin a career at Robins Air Force Base, in Warner Robins, GA where she retired after 38 years of service as a Communication Security Liaison. Her job took her to Michigan, South Korea, Arizona, and Florida until her retirement.

Peggy was an avid golfer, making four holes-in-one during her lifetime, a lover of good books, a master gardener, member of the Hiawassee Garden Club, member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church of Hiawassee, GA, a world traveler, a staunch republican supporter, and a major stock investor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, twelve brothers and sisters, husbands Roswell W. Locke, Daniel A. West, and her beloved son, Roswell Tim Locke.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, Allan Driskell and his daughters, Becky Wentzel, and Laurie Croy, along with a host of Peterman family nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Peggy’s family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home at 417 S. Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, GA from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Magnolia Park Cemetery at 205 S. Pleasant Hill Road, Warner Robins, GA, where Peggy will be laid to rest.

A separate memorial service will be held at McConnell Memorial Baptist Church in Hiawassee, GA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests you donate in Peggy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation – Scottish Rite Hospital, 1575 NE Expressway, Atlanta, GA 30329 - Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries, 505 Waterworks Road, Palmetto, GA 30265 - or McConnell Memorial Baptist Church, 84 Church Street, Hiwassee, GA 30546.
