Petri Media Overton

Retired nurse and devoted wife, mother, grandma and sister, Petri Overton, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the age of 71. She was born in Chicago, IL on November 5, 1950 and dedicated her life to loving her family and helping people as a Licensed Practical Nurse. The uncanny way that Petri made everyone feel welcomed and loved was an attribute that shined both at home and at work. She cared for countless patients over the years including dialysis patients and drug rehab patients at “Interventions” from where she retired. Petri was very funny and a straightshooter. She loved to travel; her last big trip was in 2012 to Paris, France and Germany. No matter where Petri went, she spread love and joy. To know her was to love her.

Petri was the oldest of six children. She leaves the following siblings behind: Danny Media, Lenny Ray Media (Linda), Charles Media, Wendy Johnson and Tina Media. Petri also leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Jonathan Overton; children, Christopher Overton (Amber) and Dana Cummins (Terryl); grandchildren, Christopher Jay Overton, Sharrele Randall, Cinai Overton, Kilian DeAndre Overton-Malena, Jazmyne Noah, Amarien Roland, Khamani Noah and Taylor Cummins; and mother, Willie Mae Media. Also left to treasure her memory are several nieces and nephews, all of who she loved as if they were her own.
