Philip Ira Campbell, Sr.

May 31, 1930 — August 21, 2002

Warner Robins – Philip Ira Campbell, 72, died Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at his home. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 23 at Southside Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. Reverend Jerry Walls and Reverend Randall Nash will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home.

Mr. Campbell was born in Sumter, South Carolina. He was retired from the City of Warner Robins where he served as the City Gas Inspector for twenty-six years. He served on the Warner Robins City Council for eight years. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. For over thirty years he was involved with both the American Little League and the National Softball League and also had a baseball field named in his honor. Mr. Campbell was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Dominey Campbell.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann Campbell; son, Philip Campbell, Jr.; daughter, Ann Sisson; daughter, Kayleen Mims; son, Mike Campbell; sister, Juanita Hoffman; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of Warner Robins.
