Phillip Michael Lewis

Phillip Michael Lewis was surrounded by his family when he passed from this life on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. He was 69 years old.

Born in Soperton, Georgia on October 5, 1952, Phillip was the son of the late Johnny Lewis and Ella Mae Phillips. He spent his career working in civil service as a machinist at Robins Air Force Base until his retirement in 2017. He married Barbara Jean Johnson Lewis on December 20, 1973. He was an avid gardener and fisherman. Phillip also enjoyed carpentry and cooking on the grill. Most of all, he was a devoted grandfather to his five grandchildren and adored spending time with them.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Barbara Lewis; daughter, Stacey Montford (Michael); son, Michael Lewis (Candice); grandchildren, Wesley Montford, Xavier Montford, Branden Montford, Landen Lewis, and Logan Lewis; sister, Cathy Lewis of Bonaire; brother, Nate Jackson of Dublin; aunts, Louise Kinsey (Douglas) of Clarkston, Georgia and Cora Hodges of Atlanta; brother-in-law, Edward Pollard (Janet) of Virginia; sister-in-law, Sharon Pollard of Sylvester, Georgia; devoted friend, James Harrison; and a host of cousins and friends who will dearly miss him.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2022 at McCullough Funeral Home. His service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Phillip will be laid to rest at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Boiling Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Soperton, Georgia.
