Phillip Wayne ''Papa'' Burdeshaw, 73, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, February 20, 2012.
Wayne was born on August 22, 1938 in Dothan, Alabama to the late James Allie and Vassie Burdeshaw. They later moved to Warner Robins where he met and married his childhood sweetheart, Barbara, then started and raised his family. Wayne owned and operated P.W. Burdeshaw Plastering Company in Macon for thirty years, and was an avid NASCAR fan. This year, he will have a great view watching the Daytona 500. Later in life, one of his joys and "side jobs" was raising cows and bulls, and riding his tractor. Wayne loved to travel to the shows where he learned more each time.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Barbara Spring Burdeshaw, Kathleen; sons, Steve Burdeshaw (Jenny), Perry, Jeff Burdeshaw, Kathleen, and Kip Burdeshaw (Lisa), Hawkinsville; grandchildren, Stephanie, Chris, Matt, and Ben Burdeshaw, Betsy Lucas, and Ridge Grinstead; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private graveside service for the family will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Magnolia Park Mausoleum in Warner Robins. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made for the children at Joanna McAfee Childhood Cancer Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 9537, Warner Robins, GA 31095, http://supportcancerkids.org.
