Raford C. Thomas, 76, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 12, 2013.
Mr. Thomas was born on October 30, 1936 in Mayo, Florida. He was of the Baptist faith. With pride and honor, Raford served his country in the United States Navy, retiring after twenty three years of service. During his military career, he received many distinguished awards and medals including the Vietnam Service Medal and numerous Good Conduct Medals. Subsequent to his military career, after twenty three years of dedicated civil service, he retired from Robins Air Force Base where he worked as an Aircraft Mechanic. Raford lived in Houston County for thirty six years. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a wonderful handyman, enjoyed yard work and loved the outdoors. His parents, Ottis C. Thomas and Rosie C. Thomas; one sister, Sadie Bolick, all preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of fifty years, Nora Lee Thomas; children, Nora Frank and Betty Adams, all of Centerville; James Lynch, Eatonton; siblings, Riley Thomas, Mitchell Thomas, Cornellia Loose, and Margaret Yeardy; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday evening, February 15, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
