SMSgt. Ralph Roger Harris, Sr., USAF (Ret.), 89, entered into rest on Friday, September 13, 2024.
Ralph was born on August 16, 1935, in Macon, Georgia. After high school, Ralph enlisted and honorably served in the United States Air Force. A flight engineer during his service, he flew missions in Vietnam from 1965-1973, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. Following his military career, he went on to work as an aircraft maintenance supervisor on Robins Air Force Base. Ralph was a faithful Christian and member of Greenwood Baptist Church in Gray, Georgia. In his free time, he enjoyed farming on his property and bowling. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.
His parents, Johnny Lee Harris, Sr. and Gladys Beaulah Harper Harris, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 70 years, Trudy Sims Harris; sons, Ralph Roger Harris, Jr. (Zo) of Warner Robins, Kenneth Wayne Harris of Warner Robins, and John Dana Harris (Gloria) of Macon; grandchildren, Laurie, Trudy, Ryan, Jordan, Parker, Becky, Tasha, and Taylor; brother, Buddy Harris (Sandra) of Macon, along with 14 great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Magnolia Park Cemetery, where Ralph will be laid to rest.
