Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Randell Thomas Callaway, joined his sweet wife, Marian Ruth Callaway in Heaven, on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. He was 70 years old.
Born in Washington, GA on October 7, 1951, Randell was the son of the late Rollin Thomas and Willie Lou Combs Callaway. He proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served his country as a rifleman during the Vietnam War. Randell was honorably discharged in 1972 and went on to pursue a successful 25-year career in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. He retired in 2013.
Randell was a sure man of the Lord and was a longtime faithful member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church and Betty’s Bunch Sunday School Class. When he wasn’t working or at church, you could find him fishing, hunting, or volunteering with the Boy Scouts. Furthermore, Randell loved all sports, dancing, sitting by the pool, and just loving on his dog. His family and friends will always remember Randell with fondness in their hearts and souls.
In addition to his wife and parents, Randell was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Weatley.
His memory will be forever remembered by his loving daughters, Stephanie Cruthirds (Randle) of Warner Robins, Michele Dreisbach of Forsyth, and Laura Miller (Wesley) of Virginia; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Rusty Callaway, Cheryl Broome and DeWayne Callaway.
Randell’s family will receive friends on Sunday, March 13, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, with Reverend Joe D. Haselden officiating. Randell will be laid to rest next to Marian in Magnolia Park Cemetery following the service.
For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
