Ray Roy Everding, (Retired MSgt - USAF), passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday, May 6, 2024, at McCullough Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Ray was born March 18, 1950, in Valley City, North Dakota, to Carl and Mabel Everding. He spent his youth on the family farm in North Dakota. He graduated from North Central of Barnes High School in 1969 and joined the Air Force in l 970. He served his country in various places until he retired at Robins AFB, GA in December 1993.He received the several awards and decorations during his service with the Air Force: Defense Meritorious Service Medal with 1 device, Air Force Commendation Medal with 1 device, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor with 1 device, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 devices, Air Force Overseas Short Tour ribbon with 2 devices, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with 1 device, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with 1 device, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Korea Defense Service Medal. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service 1993 until he retired in January 2014.
Ray married Cristita in 1976 in Angeles City, Philippines. They had two sons. He liked using his computer, playing with his granddaughter, doing home repairs, yard work, gardening and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Cristita of Warner Robins; son, Kevin, and granddaughter, Avery; sister, Marie and her husband, Laurel Gunderson of Lynnwood, WA; sister, Barbara Valley City, ND.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark and his sister, Linda.
