On the evening of Sunday, October 24, 2021, Reba R. Aman, was called to Heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 78. She was born in Milledgeville, GA on September 20, 1943, to the late Ernest Clay and Mary Rebecca Herringdine Roberts.
Around three years of age, Reba and her family moved from Milledgeville to Warner Robins. She proudly graduated with Warner Robins High School’s Class of ’61 where she sang in the chorus. Reba later attended Georgia Alabama Business School and went on to graduate from Crandall Business College. In May of 1965, she started a 36-year career in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base where she held several positions including, temporary warehouseman, packer, clerk typist, personnel clerk, assignment specialist, keypunch operator, programmer, and assistant in the Yard of the Month Program. She was selected as the first female housing inspector responsible for identifying and accomplishing critical repairs for an aging housing infrastructure. Reba’s roles expanded to include the over 800 houses and 100 mobile homes in Robins East on Base. In 1987, she was promoted to Chief of Assignment and eventually retired as a Housing Project Manager. Reba received numerous achievement awards, to include the Outstanding Civilian Service Award.
In her retirement years, Reba enjoyed working in the cafeteria for the Houston County Board of Education for 10 years. She was also a member of Byron Baptist Church, loved flower gardening, and crocheting in her free time, but spending time with the family she loved was what made her the happiest.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delma Aman; her siblings, Carolyn Roberts Lord, Della Roberts Butler and Rex Allen Roberts; and her son-in-law, Joshua John Henry.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Stephanie Self Henry; and her siblings, Runette Roberts Cadwell, Colin Roberts (Portip), and Seaborn Roberts (Caron). Reba will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews who will forever know her as ‘Aunt Nellie Bell.’
Reba’s family will receive visitors on Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
