Regina Smith Mcdonald Martin

July 15, 1924 — July 20, 2011

Regina Smith McDonald Martin, 87, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ Wednesday, July 20, 2011.

Mrs. Martin was born July 15, 1924 in Macon, Georgia. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Regina retired from Robins Air Force Base after twenty years of service where she worked as a Secretary in civil service. Her first husband and father of her children, J.B. "Jake" McDonald, and her loving husband of forty-four years, Wade M. Martin; parents, Walter Ellis Smith and Henrietta Hendricks Smith, all preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved sons and their spouses, Thomas E. McDonald and his wife Dale, Macon; Brad McDonald and his wife Jean. Fort Valley; step-daughters, Dorothy Hunley (Billy), Bonaire, Beverly Fuller (Woody), Byron, Elizabeth Martin, Byron; sister and brother-in-law, Camille and Jack DeMave, Studio City, California; grandchildren, Chad McDonald and his wife, Melody, Marietta; Pamela McDonald and Rachel McDonald, Macon; great grandchildren, Ainsley and Aiden McDonald, Marietta; and many other family members and friends.

The family will greet friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family would like to express gratitude to the loving caregivers at the Church Home for the Aged, her beloved neighbors, and her dear friend, Norma Thompson. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to the Church Home for the Aged, 2740 Highway 41 North, Fort Valley, Georgia 31030 or to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1631 Green Street, Warner Robins, Georgia 31093-2717.
