James W. Edmonds, 68, walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior in Heaven on Tuesday, October 27, 2020.
James was born in Tampa, Florida on May 11, 1952, the son of Elizabeth Edmonds and the late William James Edmonds. Following graduations from Warner Robins High School and Mercer University, James was called by the Lord to preach His word. He went on to graduate from Southern Seminary and later enlisted in the United States Army where he served for two terms. Following his military career, James served as the chaplain of Coastal Correctional Institute for several years and later became the much-loved pastor at Rock Hill Baptist Church in Dooly County. He also preached at several churches around Georgia where he was needed. Limestone Baptist was his most recent church home. James was also a bookworm and avid history buff who enjoyed learning about a plethora of social studies topics, especially about different wars.
He is survived by his loving mother, Elizabeth H. Edmonds and sister, Cindy Edmonds, both of Senoia, Georgia.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. James will be laid to rest in private graveside service for his family in Andersonville National Cemetery.
