CMSgt. Richard D. Brooks, USAF (Ret.), 77, entered into rest on Monday, March 18, 2024.
Richard was born on February 21, 1947, in Rochester, New York to the late Donald and Lillian Brooks. A true patriot, Richard enlisted and honorably served in the United States Air Force until his retirement. Richard was a very social man who knew someone everywhere he went; he never met a stranger. He was also known to be a gentleman and a helper; always willing to help someone in need. He loved animals and his deer-headed chihuahua, Marley, was very important to him. In his free time, he could be found involved in one of his many interesting hobbies including cooking, horticulture, hockey, teaching, and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Wendy Brooks and brothers, Jim Brooks, and Don Brooks.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Richard Brooks (Su) and Brian Brooks (Kelly); grandchildren, Allison Brooks (Nathan Prowant), Ashleigh Brooks, Emily Brooks, Andrea Ardary (Tyler) and Danielle Swanink (James); nephews, Rob Brooks (Molly) and John Brooks (Angelina); and sister-in-law, Betty Brooks along with several other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
