Richard A. Davison, 83, of Byron, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 1,1941, in Keene, NH, Richard was the son of the late Percy and Genevieve Davison. He is survived by his wife, Carol, of 56 years. He was a loving father to his children, Rhonda (Tom) Clater, Sherri (Jeff) Harris, and Ryan (Lucie) Davison. Richard was a proud grandfather to his thirteengrandchildren, Karrie, Sean, Rachel, Evan, Paige, Sarah, Alex, Joshua, Ashton, Eva, Goldie, Conor and Arabela, and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Rick (Jeri) Canfield.
Richard served his country in the USAF during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam War. Later, he worked as a tool and die maker for 50+ years, retiring from Hye Precision in Perry, GA, in 2013.
Using communication skills gained during his service time, Richard was an amateur ham radio enthusiast for the rest of his life, recently earning his 50-year ARRL. He had a passion for electronics and took great pleasure in working on tool and die projects. He served in the Crawford County Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was an active member of Open Bible Church in Lizella, GA, and happily served where he could within the church.
Services will be held February 15, 2025, at Open Bible Church, 6490 Sandy Point Road, Lizella, GA, with visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, and funeral from 2:00 – 3:00 pm with graveside immediately following at Open Bible Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Open Bible Church in Richard's memory.
Richard will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
