Richard E. Kelly, Sr. 63, of 111 St. Raymond Pl., Kathleen, GA died March 20, 2005 after a long illness.

He was born in Germantown, Pa., moved from New York at age 7 and grew up in Savannah. He graduated from Cathedral Day School, Benedictine Military School and was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He was a Georgia Football Letterman 1960-1962. He was employed as an insurance claims manager for several companies before retirement.

Survived by his wife, Joe Ann Morrissey Kelly of Kathleen; one daughter, Michelle (Barry) Graybeal of Kathleen; two sons, Richard E. (Patricia) Kelly, Jr. of Perry, GA and Joseph M. “Pete” (DeeDee) Kelly of Kathleen; mother, Julia Elizabeth Kelly, Savannah; sister, Patricia K. (Tommy) Whalen, Savannah; 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Richard J. Kelly and brother, Robert S. Kelly.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 23 at 6:00 PM with a visitation to follow until 8:00 PM at McCullough Funeral Home, Warner Robins. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 30 in Savannah. Interment will be held at Greenwich-Bonaventure Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be sent to Benedictine School, Savannah; Sacred Heart Building Fund, Warner Robins; Hospice of Houston County.
