Richard Joseph "Dick" Denny

January 21, 1940 — May 18, 2021

Richard Joseph “Dick” Denny, age 81, passed away on May 18, 2021 in Macon.

As one of nine children, Mr. Denny was born on January 21, 1940 in the heart of steel country in Bentleyville, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late William Roosevelt Denny and Margaret Callahan. Growing up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mr. Denny was a diehard, terrible-towel-waving, Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Lexington aircraft carrier.

A devoted grandfather and man of faith, he adored spending time with his family. One of his favorite pastimes was working in his yard. He retired from Diamond Plastic where he was a plant manager for many years. Later in life, he worked part-time delivering car parts for O’Reilly Auto Parts. He was the widower of Virginia Mae Denny to whom he was married to for 42 years.

Those who are left to cherish his memory are his sons, Rick Denny (Angela) and Jeff Denny (June); grandchildren, Nicholas Denny (Kori), Alexandra Barnes (Ben), and Jeffrey Denny, Jr.; great grandchildren, Easton Denny, Avery Denny, and Abigail Barnes; sister, Jacqueline Peltz (Mike); and a host of extended family and friends.

At the family’s request, all services will be private.
