Richard L. "Dick" Burson

March 7, 1934 — December 1, 2017

Richard Burson, 83, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017.

Dick was born on March 7, 1934 in Elk Falls, Kansas to the Clem and Berea Burson. A proud Air Force veteran he served his country during the Korean War. Dick had a long career at Northrop Gruman as a Software Engineer and Developer retiring in 2008. He lived in Warner Robins for the past 24 years and attended Harvest Church. In his spare time he enjoyed wood working and fishing, however, his greatest joy came from his beloved family.

His children, Sandy and Susan Burson, and brothers, Jerry Burson, Virgil Burson and Randy Burson,
preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Mary Burson of Warner Robins; daughters, Sherry Love of Texas, Ginny Weltzin (Douglas) of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren, Justin Love (Heather), Joshua Love, Alicia Johnson (Josh), Samantha Klein (Chris), and great-grandchildren, Ethan Johnson, Gavin Johnson, Adelyn Johnson.

A memorial service to celebrate Dick’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Harvest Church. Following the service, the family will receive friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Richard L. “Dick” Burson to Heart of Georgia Inpatient Hospice, 1120 Morningside Drive, Perry, GA 31069 or the African Water Well Program at Harvest Church, 3322 Highway 41, Byron, GA 31008.
