In the late afternoon hours of Tuesday, December 18, 2018, Neil Layfield passed away at Houston Healthcare. He was 61.
Neil was born in Macon, Georgia on September 8, 1957 to the late Albert Lee and Helen Brown Layfield. A forklift driver at the Save A Lot warehouse in Macon, Neil enjoyed watching football, especially the Georgia Bulldogs, NASCAR races, and spending time with his family and grandbabies. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Layfield.
Neil’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 43 years, Denice Trayner Layfield of Warner Robins; children, Michael Layfield (Lynn) of Centerville and Angela Callaway (James) of Warner Robins; granddaughters, Gabrielle Callaway and Alanna Layfield; siblings, Delores Johnson (Raymond), Keith Layfield (Amy), and Vance Layfield (Beth); and sister-in-law, Brenda Layfield.
A memorial gathering will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018 at McCullough Funeral Home.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. Layfield’s arrangements.
