Richard Scott Poteat, Jr. passed away on the morning of Sunday, December 13, 2020. He was 34 years old.
Born on February 3, 1986, at Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico, Richard was the son of Richard Scott Poteat and Robin Elaine Poteat.
In 2006, Richard graduated from Middle Georgia Technical College. He went on to work as a Sheet Metal Mechanic at Boeing Co. in Macon and then at Smiley’s Flea Market. His most recent occupation was as a cook at Old Times Country Buffet in Warner Robins. His family and friends will sorely miss him.
Step-mother Victoria F. (Sparks) Poteat; and grandfather, Ira Arlee Mullikin preceded Richard in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his parents, Richard Scott Poteat and Robin Elaine Poteat; brother, Daniel Poteat (Jamie); niece, Victoria A. Poteat; nephew, Richard A. Poteat; grandmothers, Liz Jacobs, Gloria Mullikin, Janie Poteat; and grandfather, Daniel Frank Poteat, Sr.; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 19, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-day Saints. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Ken Kozak officiating.
