Rita A. Rutkowski, 73, entered into rest on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at her home.
Rita was born on March 15, 1947, in Bayonne, New Jersey. She was of Catholic faith. Rita had a special hobby as a bird lover; she had a special room in her home in which she would show and handle different species of Parakeets, Love Birds, and talking Parrots. She also loved spending time with her dogs, “Rusty” and “Sassy”. Rita was also an avid reader. She had a smile for everyone and loved hanging out at Dunkin, enjoying her coffee. All will sadly miss her.
Her parents, Francis and Mary Gagnon Matthews; husband, Stanley E. Rutkowski Sr.; son, Stanley Rutkowski Jr.; and brother, Thomas Matthews preceded Rita in death.
Rita’s memory, smile, and laugh will forever be treasured by her son, Michael Rutkowski and his wife, Christy; daughter, Robyn Rutkowski; three grandchildren, Krystal, Kyle, and Mavie; and one great-grandchild, Jaxon; sister, Terry Matthews Kearse; brothers, Frank Matthews and his wife, Marion; and Albert Matthews and his wife, Kathy; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be with Rita’s family will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service celebrating Rita’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Magnolia Park Cemetery with Deacon Jim Hunt officiating. Afterward, Rita will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
