Rita Delia Loveless

On the morning of Tuesday, March 7, 2023, the matriarch of the Loveless Family, Rita Delia Loveless, peacefully passed away, at the age of 92. She is gone but will never be forgotten.

A proud native of Colombia, South America and devout Catholic, Rita was born on November 28, 1930, the daughter of the late Jorge Enrique Alexander and Dionisia Becerra. She was a philanthropist and altruistic by nature, as she possessed a huge and loving heart for people and animals. Rita selflessly devoted her time to helping others and donating when she had the chance. As a much-loved teacher, Rita educated and mentored countless special needs children and adults through her working years. She loved real estate, as well, and was successful in buying and selling properties. When Rita wasn’t at work or volunteering, she loved traveling, RV’ing, camping, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert Ralph Loveless; children, Kenneth and Pete Loveless and Kay Loveless Raffield; and granddaughter, Christine Loveless.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Vicki Loveless Kennedy (Ed); daughter-in-law, Nancy Bisbini; son-in-law, Virgil Raffield; grandchildren, Wendy Gregory, Jill Rogers Harding (Michael), Don Raffield (Priscilla), Heather Turner and Cameron Raffield; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; cousins, Gloria Becerras Roldan, Hernando Becerra Roldan, Sandra Roldan, Nicolas Roldan Lopez and Paula “Paola” Roldan Lopez; and a very special family friend, Clara Murillo.

Visitation with Rita’s family will take place on Monday, March 13, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, with Monsignor Fred Nijem officiating. Rita will be laid to rest in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Charleston, SC at a date to be determined.
