Robert A. Bowlin, Sr., 77, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2005, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 27, 2005, in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 26, 2005, from 7 until 9 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Robins Air Force Base Museum of Aviation Foundation, P.O Box 2469, Warner Robins, Georgia 31099.
Colonel Bowlin was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He retired from the United States Air Force as an Air Force Pilot. He was in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Shriner, Clown Unit, Jester, and a member of the Tyrian Lodge. His parents, Roy L. and Marie Bowlin; three brothers, Charles, William, and Thomas Bowlin; preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Bowlin, Bonaire; children, Connie Renner (Pete), Perry; Robert Bowlin (Dell), Warner Robins; step-children, Teri Gernstein, Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Tim Chappell, Boston, Massachusetts; Ken Chappell, Seattle, Washington; Karen Kitchens (Tommy), Warner Robins; brother, Roy L. Bowlin, Jr., Texas; grandchildren, Steve Renner; Emily Bowlin; Holly Nix; Brad Gernstein; Brian Kitchens; Zack Kitchens; Kelsey Kitchens; several nieces and nephews.
