Robert Bertrand Burns, 85, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2007.
Mr. Burns was born on August 24, 1921 in Burgettstown, PA. Since 1953, he was a faithful and devoted member of First Presbyterian Church of Warner Robins. He graduated from the University of Pittsburg in 1939, where he earned his degree in engineering. With loyalty and honor, he retired from the United States Navy, after obtaining the rank of Lieutenant, where he served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. In 1980, he retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base where he worked as Directorate of Material Management as an engineer. A man of many accomplishments, he was a member of NARFE, AARP, and the American Legion. He volunteered his time helping the elderly by preparing their tax returns. His parents, Daniel J. and Helen Figley Burns, and his sister, June Burns Argenta, all preceded him in death.
He will be missed by his loving wife of sixty one years, Vera A. Burns, Warner Robins; two sons, Robert E. Burns (Cynthia), Warner Robins; Daniel J. Burns (Brenda), Kennesaw; grandchildren, Kimberly Burns, Gina Fonte, Julie Burns, Jenilee Burns, Robert Burns, Kaitlin Burns, great grandchildren, Robbie Burns, Jackson Fonte, brothers, William Burns, James D. Burns, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
