Robert "Bob" Evans Dougan, Sr., 87, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012.
Mr. Dougan was born on May 17, 1925 in Blytheville, Arkansas. Bob graduated from Southside High School and Memphis State College in Memphis and earned a Master's Degree at Ole Miss. A veteran of World War II, he served in the United States Army in the European Theatre. After retiring from Robins Air Force Base, he served two terms as 2nd VP with the local NARFE chapter and enjoyed playing golf. His parents, Page Brandon Dougan and Lena Evans Dougan, and siblings, Thelma Muskelley, Ruby Yerby, Wilson Dougan, Helen Leatherwood, and Max Dougan, all preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Mathilde Dougan; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Dougan, Jr., (Sheila), Fayetteville, Georgia; two granddaughters, Elizabeth London (Mike), Newnan, Georgia; Jessica Dougan, Fayetteville, one great grandson, Greyson London.
Private burial will be at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery; Moore's Chapel, near Milan, Tennessee. Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 7918, Warner Robins, Georgia 31095-7918.
