Robert “Bob” Alan Haslett entered into rest on Monday, August 26, 2024. Bob was born in Watertown, New York, on July 27, 1960, to the late Ernest and Helen Haslett. Bob lived a life marked by dedication, service, and boundless affection for his family and passions.
From an early age, Bob demonstrated a keen sense of purpose and a strong work ethic. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, embarking on a remarkable 20-year career. Rising to the rank of Tech Sergeant, Bob’s military service was defined by his unwavering commitment, exceptional skills, and the profound respect he earned from his peers. His career was a testament to his leadership and his dedication to his country.
Following his military retirement, Bob transitioned to civilian life with the same dedication he had shown in the Air Force. He worked with Tiger Construction in Piedmont, South Carolina, before moving on to a role with Jerry Carpenter in demolition and construction. Bob’s expertise and work ethic made him a valued asset in every position he held.
In his later years, Bob found fulfillment working in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base, where he continued to contribute to the community he had long been a part of. His career in Civil Service spanned 22 years, marking a final chapter of dedicated service to the base and the people he worked alongside.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bob was a man of many interests and deep passions. He cherished the thrill of dirt track racing, which brought him great joy and a sense of exhilaration. Bob found peace and pleasure in camping trips, where he could connect with nature and unwind. His love for woodworking allowed him to craft beautiful creations, reflecting his creativity and patience. Bob’s loyal companion, a beloved dog named Dixie, was a constant source of comfort and joy in his life.
Most importantly, Bob treasured time spent with his family. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family was a cornerstone of his life. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend, always putting his family’s needs and happiness first.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Therese Haslett; children, Amanda Rountree (Steven) of Bonaire, Georgia, Kathryn Duke (Lanier) of Kathleen, Georgia, Amber Aldridge (Daniel) of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Kristina Morin (Jim) of Warner Robins, Georgia; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; siblings, Ann Russo, Linda Richards and Thomas Haslett.
Tech Sergeant Robert “Bob” Alan Haslett will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his service, his passions, and the love he so generously shared with those around him. May he rest in eternal peace.
