Robert C. Ferguson, Sr., 83, entered into rest on November 3, 2008.
Mr. Ferguson was born March 20, 1925 in Laurens County. He retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Kathleen and the Men's Adult Sunday School Class. For many years, he served his church family as the music minister. A member of Tyrian Lodge 111, he also operated Ferguson Memorial Park which he made available to local Boys Scouts. His parents, William Walter Ferguson and Harriet Richardson Ferguson, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of sixty-three years, Evelyn Ferguson; sons, Bobby Ferguson (Diane), Eddie Ferguson (Bobbie) and Joe Ferguson (Bissiret) all of Bonaire; grandchildren, Scott Ferguson, Chuck Ferguson, Shannon Fuller, Brandi Highman, Craig Ferguson, Betsy Puckett, Amanda Ferguson, Dominique and Cantrell Chism; great-grandchildren, Laramie, McKinley, Jarred, Gabriella, Kayla, Kelsee, Chaz, Lydia, Channing, Mason, Jack and Reece; and sister Myrtle Russell, Bonaire.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 6, 2008, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Kathleen with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
